Bulk updating email domain
Once a workgroup has one or more domains linked to it, you are able to bulk update an entire organisation's or department's email addresses to the new domain. You can bulk update email domains for only joined members within a workgroup and not pending users.
Note: Bulk update only updates members' domain name and not their username.
-
As an administrator in Objective Connect, select your username in the top right-hand corner of the page and choose the option from the drop-down menu.
- Select the workgroup for which you want to update the email domain.
-
Select Update Members.
-
Select the existing domain and the new domain from the Workgroup domain(s) list. This list shows the domains that your workgroup is currently linked with.
-
Select Update Members.
Bulk update does not need member verification. All members' email addresses will be updated to the new domain and they will receive email notifications informing them of the change.
-
If any member's existing email domain is not associated with the workgroup, then that particular member's email would not be updated. Similarly, if the proposed new domain creates a conflict with any existing email then that particular member's email would not be updated and will be reported as an error.
-
In the circumstance that a customer has linked a domain but is not set to owned, it is possible that the administrator does not have visibility of a conflicting account. For example, user1@test.com exists in the workgroup, but also exists as user1@testing.com outside of workgroup administrators visibility, upon trying to update test.com to testing.com the update would fail due to a conflict.
-
On completion of the bulk update any errors are reported in a downloadable CSV format, specifying the email addresses that failed with applicable reason.
